Postkey for companies

Send large files encrypted, by a link that expires.

Videos, construction plans, archives and contracts: Postkey encrypts every file on your device and sends it by a link with an expiry time, a password and an open limit if you like. The recipient downloads in the browser, without an account.

What the recipient sees in the browser
  1. 1

Put the files in a card

Drag in videos, plans, ZIP archives and PDFs; Postkey encrypts them before the upload.

  2. 2

    Set the link

How long it works, how often it may be opened, view only or download, and a password.

  3. 3

    Send the link

By e-mail or copy it into any channel. The key sits in the part after #, which the browser does not send to the server.

  4. 4

    The recipient downloads

In the browser, after the password if you set one. He can end the link himself after downloading.

Large files, encrypted on your device

Every file is encrypted on your device with AES-256-GCM before it is uploaded, even its name. One card can hold many files, from the drone video to the building permit.

  • Videos, ZIP archives, plans and PDFs in one card
  • Uploads in parts, streamed downloads
  • Larger volumes for companies on request

A link with expiry, password and open limit

Choose from one hour up to the limit of your plan how long the link works, how often it may be opened and whether the recipient may only view or also download. A private note "for whom" is only visible to you.

No account for the recipient

The recipient opens the link in any modern browser, on the computer or the phone. Photos, PDFs and code are shown right there, and every file can be downloaded on its own.

  • Previews of photos, PDF and code
  • The recipient can end the link with one tap

Previews instead of downloads

ZIP archives can be browsed, PDFs, Word and Excel files are shown on the device. Nothing is converted on a server.

Encrypted before anything is uploaded

For companies we set up larger volumes and the connection to your own processes. Write to us with the sizes and how often you send them.

How Postkey encrypts
AES-256-GCM

A key per card and per file, created on your device. The server stores encrypted data only.

The key is in the link

After the # in the link, which the browser does not send to the server.

Storage in the EU

Files at OVHcloud in Paris with a copy at IONOS in Frankfurt.

Gone after the time you set

Temporary cards and links end on their own after the time you choose.

Frequently asked questions

How large can a file be?

In the free plan one file can be up to 50 MB and a link works up to 7 days. For companies we set up larger volumes on request.

Does the recipient need an account or an app?

No. The link opens in the browser, on the computer or on the phone. You yourself need a Postkey account to send.

Can the server read my files?

No key reaches the server: files and their names are encrypted on your device. The server sees sizes, times and link settings, as described in the privacy policy.

What happens after the link expires?

It stops working. Temporary cards delete themselves after the time you chose, and the recipient can end the link earlier.

Can I protect the link with a password?

Yes. You can add a password and limit how often the link may be opened.
