Dictate instead of typing

Tap the microphone, or press Ctrl+Space on a computer: Loma records and turns the recording into text with AI.

Translate in the same step

Choose a target language and get the original and the translation together. Many languages, and the spoken one is detected automatically.

Refine: a different tone

If you want, Loma suggests a corrected version and variants such as friendly, professional or concise.

Record, convert, copy

One tap on the microphone starts the recording, the next one ends it. Loma shows each step from recording to transcription to copying and puts the finished text on the clipboard.

  • Pause, resume and cancel while recording
  • On a computer with Ctrl+Space
  • Pick the microphone, with a level meter for every input

Privacy and security

What happens to your recording.

For transcription Loma sends the recording through our server function to OpenAI, or to Google Gemini as a fallback. The texts are stored in your account; in the current version the audio file stays on the device you recorded with.

Conversion by AI providers

Speech recognition, translation and Refine run through OpenAI, with Google Gemini as a fallback. The "Whisper" model in the web app converts on our own server in Germany instead.

Texts in your account

Transcripts, translations and variants are stored in your account at Supabase in Ireland, so that you see them on all your devices.

Audio on your device

In the current version our server does not store the recording itself. It stays in the browser or in the app until you delete it.
